Desert Riches

As we are creatures of habit, I took a nice bike ride on this exceptionally cool morning in the desert. I took the same path that I rode yesterday, a nice dance along highway 111 from Palm Canyon to The Gardens.

There's something enchanting about a path paved with palm trees and mountains.

I realize that a great surge of creative thinking come from a physical release of energy.

Every landscape is a work of art and every thought is a gem.

The solitude of my thoughts is colorful and animated with great hope and positive thinking. I have to believe that every habitual bike ride makes a difference. Every push forward is a greater height of intangible riches.
I enjoy the wealth of lovely weather a great start to my day.

Raining

At times, life is a storm. The elements align and a brilliant madness can possess the elements and the energy of the moment.

I suppose it's a different experience in the desert. There really is not a build to a climax, or a moment where the clouds burst and the heavens rain down with a sigh of relief.

In the end, the clouds roll by. A combination of reds, purple, orange, and rust dance within the threatening gray clouds and they roll on to where their winds find break.

It makes me wonder about the people here. I smile at the locals who grow tired of desert landscapes and yearn for downpours. I think that gratitude is the desert's great release and the display is in interesting colors and the bursts of sunshine that settles in different areas of the valley. I am grateful for the rain of sunshine.

I clearly must share my gratitude.

Momo!

Our mascots today. :)

Their names are Momo which means peach in Japanese.

It certainly is the little things in life that make the each moment worth capturing.

Sesame Rasta Man

Tonight was night that was grooved to the reggae beat of Steel Pulse.

Something as solid as steel certainly gave me the drive to make it there. Sometimes it's easy to sit and give up on the next adventure. Lately I find that meeting the moment with my best foot forward unfolds quite the magical path.

The image is classic.

Adventure Day

Some days are meant to be an adventure.

It doesn't matter what the plan is, if all else fails, reset the map and go.
You might find yourself finally at your beachy destination without the bag of packed towels and sun screen.

If you're like us, you'll throw down the blanket that you find in the car, awkwardly ask strangers for sunscreen, and cuddle anyway.

The fruit of adventure is bountiful.

Every scene is a joy to the eyes.

Lake Perris certainly was a joy to stroll.

The earth shared with us it's trees.

The earth shared with us it's wild flowers.

It even shared it's random-middle-of-no-where-Japanese-style-possibly-spaceship.

We didn't finish the walk around Lake Perris. Apparently it is 9 miles and as mentioned before, our gear did not make it.

It's a joy to know that there's still fruit to be enjoyed at Lake Perris. Next time, we'd like to make it to the rock climbing. Also, we plan on a game of pool in the marina. One day we'll take bikes! (When we both have a bike)

It's simple, life is meant to be stirred.

No adventure day is complete without an adventure meal, such as ours at Thai Palms.

Adventure, laughter, sunshine, mountains, beach, strolls, spring rolls, pad Thai, and Thai tea all come together and the details will fade with time.

Life's love song remains.
Adventure is the sweet refrain.

Special Post.

A camera can capture life within the folds of adventure.
Suggestions can take us back to an experience, a return to now unfolded moments.

I do my best to share each treasured experience. It is the present moment like this that I look forward to in my tomorrows.

As I See It

Sometimes things are so beautiful that you don't mind revisiting the view several times.

There's beauty beyond the original image. Art simply unfolds for those that envision it.

Brighter or darker, an entirely different feel emerges.

I believe that this translates to art of living life.

I envision such beauty.

Many Hikes

There are some places that are hiked once and you leave with a sense of accomplishment.

That is not the case with Bump n Grind in Palm Desert.

Around each corner is another great view.

If you stop to take them in, you are beamed down by the sun. Or you learn to attempt the hike later in the day. Lesson 1 of Bump n Grind: it's a 6pm hike kind of place dying the summer.

Regardless of the sun, our first hike there was amazing. We felt that we hadn't conquered even a quarter of what there was to offer on that trail. There was also another trail in the opposite direction that we hadn't attempted.

As we headed back down the trail I stopped for a moment and felt a familiar feeling that hikes bring me. There's a certain timeless experience that you return to in nature, a sort of living memory of every adventure.I felt a wave of familiar energy and put it into making a small mark that we had come.
Today after my second hike it seems easier to reflect on the first. These connected experiences give life to the many before it. It is quite an immense part of my journey. I hope to be a display of my gratitude.

Hope

Today the California federal government overturned proposition 8. Sure, this will be appealed, but I suddenly find myself wishful.

I wonder if the winds blew me west with the promise of a chance to treasure Julie in a way that she deserves.

We have fields filled with dreams.

Suddenly I find myself pondering their fruition.

Today is a good day for hope.

The Writings on the Wall

Life is fun when a random mural creates a photo op.

What are we looking at?

We're gazing into the endless opportunity that lays before us.

Imagination has always been creation.

First Slow Down

Lazy afternoons and white cherries.

Life is simply sweet.
